Because if yes, the game is absolutely worth it if not, then probably no amount of sale discount will make the game worth it.

And the exported team can be re-used however many times you want, too. It also carries over learned recipes for crafting and agriculture. Once your town is fully established, fairly late game, you get the option to select 3 characters, including their equipment, and some extra items which you can 'export' to use in future games you start.

I think my favorite vanilla feature of the game is the Re-Embark mechanic. Personally I have a soft spot for "Fast Pickup/Dropdown" and "Bigger Backpacks". Other than ACE I'd say there is enough mods to add a decent amount of extra content, or quality of life tweaks.
#Stonehearth mods worth getting mod#
But it is the biggest mod in terms of adding extra content in one comprehensive package, and I can't imagine playing without it at this point. I say this because I have yet to get my workers to reliable haul items as much as I would like them to and the extra busywork of Fuel and Drinks does not help in that regard. It is a fairly slow-paced game, speaking from my experience playing at Normal difficulty, and I'd lean towards it likely being more fun if played together with a friend or a few thereof.Īuthorized Community Expansion (ACE) is the most notable mod, as it adds quite a bit of content, unfortunately it also comes with what I personally would describe as needless tedium in the form of Fuel, and a lesser tedium in Drinks/Beverages. If you like these kinds of games, I'd say it is worth it with the caveat to expect some hiccups here and there. A friend or two to co-op with might be ideal.Ĭircumstances had it's developement cut shorter than ideal but it was left in a playable state with fairly minimal bugs or issues for the most part. spiderwebs which spider enemies create as ladders to allow themselves to climb over your town walls.Tl dr The game is worth the price with the expectation of getting a game of "Okay" level of polish, enjoyable if you like the genre and fairly relaxing pace of gaming. Another example is the vines added to the highland biome now that the tech to support them is in place it allows other modders to do similar things (not just new vines, but e.g. For example, ACE adds a water signal system and uses irrigation crops and pumps to show off some of the potential of it but other modders can use that water signal to do whatever they like. If you're looking for "total overhaul" mods or new kingdoms, then Nordlings is a great option - bear in mind it may not be completely compatible with other mods although it's pretty good about that.ĪCE isn't just a "must-have" mod, it's basically an officially endorsed expansion (just how Rayya's Children and Northern Alliance are actually dev-created mods which ship with the base game, ACE is a community-made mod designed to be modded on top of and made with assistance and support from the dev team.) ACE's goal isn't to be "the one mod to have everything", rather, it's a mod which gives other modders and players a ton of new tools but in a "shallow" way - they call it horizontal expansion - so that those tools can be used to give "depth" to other content. There are plenty of other great decoration mods, these ones are just ones I think work well with the base game regardless of personal preferences. Big and Small Maps lets you control map size, unlike a lot of other map resizing mods which just set it to a specific size.įor decoration/construction mods: Glassworks (heaps and heaps of awesome things to build, and a new class which requires a little more than just "place down the table and supply resources"), Home Sweet Home (furniture which makes your buildings feel lived-in and breaks up repetition), Settlement Decor (a wide range of furniture and decorations), and Gardens of Hearth all get my thumbs up. Treestump mod is super simple but once you use it you'll never want to play without it. Archipelago adds a ton of stuff (new biome, fisher class, a new campaign, lots of cool additions across the game but none which are "mandatory" to use.) Canyon is a cool biome to play in (works very well for RC) but doesn't add anything else, great if you want to change things up without worrying about compatability. Archipelago, Canyon Biome, Treestump Mod, and Big and Small Maps (all by BrunoSupremo) are mods I highly recommend.
